FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO I NEED A DOCTOR’S REFERRAL TO SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?
NO; you only need a referral if you are receiving chiropractic care as a part of a treatment plan paid for by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA).
DO I NEED X-RAYS / SCANS TO GET TREATMENT?
We DO NOT routinely require x-rays or other medical imaging. Â
If we believe that you need x-rays or other medical imaging to make an accurate diagnosis, we will refer you locally to a clinic that offers bulk billing.
You will only be referred for imaging if it is absolutely necessary – this IS NOT a standard requirement for chiropractic treatment.
DO I NEED TO SIGN UP FOR A CARE PLAN OR CONTRACT TO RECEIVE CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT?
NO; ChiroCentric DOES NOT require you to sign up to Care Plans or extended contracts.
Your chiropractor will suggest an appropriate treatment frequency at your initial visit and will reassess this frequency each time you re-visit the clinic.
You are free to stop visiting the clinic at any time; we don’t expect you to continue seeing us if Chiropractic is not working for you.
WILL I RECEIVE TREATMENT ON MY INITIAL VISIT TO CHIROCENTRIC?
YES; on your initial visit your Chiropractor will take a full history and assess your needs as a part of a thorough consultation.  You will also receive your first treatment (see also FAQ: What is included in a standard treatment?).
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A STANDARD TREATMENT?
Specific treatment plans will be determined by your Chiropractor based on your specific condition and taking into account any preferences that you have.
ALMOST ALL consultations will include some form of Chiropractic adjustment – this may be a manual adjustment, low impact adjustment, activator therapy or other Chiropractic therapy.
MOST consultations will include some form of soft tissue therapy (e.g. massage).
SOME consultations may also include complementary treatment – this may include dry needling, kinesiotaping or cupping.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED BEFORE I AM BETTER?
We believe that every issue is unique and requires a tailored care plan – healing time will vary from person to person and condition to condition.Â
The speed at which you recover and the extent to which your symptoms can be addressed will vary depending on many factors including your specific condition, general health and underlying fitness.Â
You are free to stop visiting the clinic at any time; we don’t expect you to continue seeing us if Chiropractic is not working for you or if you are unhappy with your progress.
